CollegeHush addresses a difficulty many students face when choosing a college: universities often neglect to make their tours, info sessions, and publications reflective of student life and student culture. We bridge this gap between representation and reality by providing high school clients with college students who attend the schools to which they are applying. The college students (“mentors”) are matched with clients through an algorithm that factors in academic and extracurricular interests. 

 

Once the matching process is complete, the client and the CollegeHush mentor meet on Zoom for 20 or 40 minutes (at the client’s choosing), during which the mentor provides genuine insight into their experiences and fields the client’s questions about their school. The mentors are paid to answer any questions students may have—whether they be about the social scene, academic rigor, dorm life, the surrounding area, or campus dining. We also pay our mentors for referring high schoolers to our service.

 

CollegeHush currently has hundreds of mentors at over 105 schools across the U.S and U.K, and we are looking for more mentors at Michigan State.
